Freemium Model

The Settlers Online may be pay to win on the PVP side, but PVP is purely optional.
Ways to get ingame currencies include:
– 4 events a year: Easter, Summer, Halloween, and Christmas for 3 weeks each. For event resources (presents, pumpkins, eggs, balls, etc) you can buy a lot of premium items.
– By joining a guild and doing your guild quest each day, you can earn guild coins and buy additional premium items.
– Also, you earn 100 gems (the premium currancy) every 7 login days (400 to 500 a month), as well as when you level up and meeting other goals. You can use gems to also buy premium items.
