The mobile version of free-to-play multiplayer online sci-fi shooter Apex Legends, published by Electronic Arts, is now out in 10 select countries as part of a soft regional mobile launch.
About the regional launch
This regional launch is officially limited to players located in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Mexico, Peru, Argentina and Colombia.
It is also an open beta testing phase where all progress made will be lost upon full launch, being serviced in order to help Respawn and Lightspeed assess the performance of matchmaking and progression systems, backend infrastructure and microtransactions, as well as the regional live operations capabilities.
Available content include the classic Battle Royale mode (with ranked matches) set on the World’s Edge map, and three other game modes, including Team DeathMatch, Mini Battle Royale, 3v3 Arenas.
Players in said countries can join the limited regional launch by downloading the game from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
About the global launch
Players outside the 10 limited regional launch countries will be officially able to join at a later, unspecified date, depending on how the game performs on a technical level. The wait could range from weeks to a few months as development and testing continue.
