A new chapter in the Assassin’s Creed franchise is about to begin with the upcoming release of action-adventure game Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade. The free-to-play mobile game, which uses Unreal Engine, will be accessible on iOS and Android. Closed beta testing is due to occur soon.

Authentic Assassin’s Creed Gameplay

Taking place in the vibrant world and culture of 215 B.C. ancient China, between the events of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Assassin’s Creed Origins, Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade will be an action-adventure game providing authentic Assassin’s Creed experience, gameplay and features “for free” on mobile (Android, iOS). Players will be armed with a wide range of weapons, including special Chinese spears, double swords, and bows.

F2P Novelty

The novelty will reside in the game being free to play, and in the ability for players to fully customize their avatar for the first time in the franchise, further immersing them in the new adventure.
Its F2P monetization model is still completely unknown, but the ability for players to customize their character may suggest that paid cosmetics will play a big part.
