Cryptozoic Entertainment and YUKE’S have announced the upcoming release of a new major free-to-play digital collectible card game, DC Dual Force, based on 80+ years of DC Universe content.
DC Dual Force Features
DC Dual Force will feature DC Characters from the DC Universe and Gameplay based on over 80 years of comic book history. Many fan-favorite characters will be released at launch, with the catalogue expanding subsequently to include all Super Heroes and Super-Villains. The game is expected to feature a lot of single player content but it isn’t known if said content will be available as paid DLCs or remain free like the base game.
It also remains to be seen whether the collectible card game will allow full card ownership through NFT and blockchain integration. It would be a very welcomed feature, in line with current market trends, and given the name of the developer, Cryptozoic, it would somewhat appear coherent. However, no announcement seems to have been made toward blockchain/NFT integration and said developer doesn’t seem to be specialised in such integration to start with.
DC Dual Force Release
DC Dual Force Release is set to release in less than a year. Licensed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment on behalf of DC, the digital collectible card game is currently being developed by Cryptozoic and it is planned to be published by YUKE’S in Quarter 3 2022.
The release systems or platforms have not been announced but it is safe to foresee cross-platform play between mobile, PC and console devices and systems.
